Subject: Call for Papers for ICCE/3 Infrastructure Symposium
To: Multiple recipients of list CIVIL-L <CIVIL-L@unb.ca>
Hello! I post the following ICCE/3 conference announcement which you
may be interested in. The ICCE/3 includes an Infrastructure Symposium,
which will emphasis on infrastructure applications of Composite materials,
such as repair, rehabilitation, and retrofit of bridges and structures,
Reinforcement, prestressing and durability of FRPs in concrete structures,
FRP structural shapes and its connections and joints, polymer concrete,
smart structures and composites, and more.
If you are interested in presenting a paper in this coming ICCE/3, please
immediately send your tentative paper title to Dr. David Hui (dxhme@uno.edu)
or me (qiao@wvnvaxa.wvnet.edu).
Thank you for your attention

CALL FOR PAPERS (ICCE/3)
THIRD INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON COMPOSITES ENGINEERING
July 21-26, 1996, Shearton New Orleans hotel
New Orleans, Louisiana
sponsored by International Community for Composites Engineering
David Hui, Professor and Chairman ICCE/3
The major goals of the ICCE/3, 1996 conference are:
(1) to bridge the gap between mechanics and materials science of composites
(2) to encourage interactions between basic and applied composites research
(3) to bridge the gap between aerospace and infrastructures composites research
(4) reasonable registration fee and hotel rate
The following symposium will be highlighted in the ICCE/3 conference
(many other important topics which are not listed below will also be included)
- Aging and Durability - Interface, debonding
- Ceramics Composites - Joints and Adhesion
- Computational Mechanics - Mathematical Modeling
- Design and Optimization - Particulate or Nano-Composites
- Fiber/Matrix Characterization - Processing, MMC, CMC, PMC
- Functionally Gradient Materials - Smart Composites
- Impact Damage - Structural Dynamics
- Industrial Composites - Textile Composites
- Infrastructure Composites - Wave Propagation, NDT
We cordially invite you to present a paper at the coming Third
International Conference on Composites Engineering (ICCE/3), July 21-27,
1996 (during the Olympics) in New Orleans. You are invited to develop a
session(s) or invite your colleagues to present papers at ICCE/3. The ICCE/3
will be one of the largest international technical conferences on composites
in the world in recent years with 600 oral presentations. The ICCE/3 conference
is co-sponsored by over 50 engineering societies and organizations. We welcome
industrial exhibitions.
The ICCE/3 conference proceedings will consist of extended abstracts.
The abstract should be written on a regular size 11"x8.5" paper (this is
enforced for authors outside USA). It consists of two pages where each page
has a two-column format. Please use single-line space to allow maximum
information. It has at least one figure and the paper title should be
of approximately size 14 all capital "bold" typeset, one inch margin at the
bottom edge and 3/4 inch margin on other three edges. Laser-print quality
is required (no exceptions). Please underline the name of the presenter.
Due to limited space of approximately 600 oral paper presentations, each
presenter will present no more than one paper. If you or your colleagues
would like to develop sessions, please write to Dr. David Hui.
We would like to encourage all ICCE/3 participants to submit
full-length papers for review and rapid publication in the Composites
Part B: Engineering journal, published by Elsevier Science Ltd. Your can
obtain a free sample copy of this journal by writing to me or email to:
freesamples@elsevier.co.uk. Due to space limitations, each "presenter"
will present no more than one paper.
Interested authors should submit "IMMEDIATELY" the tentative
PAPER TITLE to: Dr. David Hui (Email: dxhme@uno.edu) or Pizhong Qiao
(Email: Qiao@wvnvaxa.wvnet.edu). The deadline for submitting the two-page
extended abstracts which will be included in conference proceedings is
on May 20, 1996.
The registration fee for the conference is $220.00 before May 20, 1996
and $270.00 after this date or ON-SITE Registration. The ICCE/3 conference
will be held at the SHERATON Hotel (a four-star highly rated hotel) in
downtown New Orleans, and the hotel rate is $83.00 + tax per night on
a first come first serve basis (all year regular rate is $209.00).
For the Sheraton Hotel information, TEL: (504) 525-2500, FAX: (504)
595-5550, if you are from USA, please call, TEL: 1-800-325-3535.
Student presentations and industrial exhibitions are welcomed.
