San Francisco State University is seeking applicants for a tenure-track
Assistant Professor position in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in
Structural Design and Earthquake Engineering. Applicants must have a Ph.D.
degree in the area of Structural Engineering, with a Baccalaureate degree in
Civil Engineering. A strong interest in teaching is essential. Teaching
responsibilities cover undergraduate and graduate courses, including
development and teaching of laboratories. Candidates are expected to engage
in funded research activities. Those interested in developing an earthquake
vibration laboratory are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of computer-aided
drafting is very desirable. A secondary area of expertise in another area
of civil engineering besides structures is also desirable. Candidates with
industrial and/or teaching experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Review of applications will begin January 28, 1998 and will continue until a
candidate is selected.
