The International Conference of Building Officials (ICBO), publisher of the Uniform Building Code and a wide variety of companion publications, has developed a full range of code-related seminars. I have taken two of their seminars recently and found them very well presented by competent professional engineers with excellent lecture notes and other supporting information. The first seminar was "Design of Concrete Shear Walls for Seismic Zone 3 & 4" and the second seminar was "1994 Structural U.B.C. Update." If you are practicing in "Uniform Building Code" country and are interested in "continuing education", contact the International Conference of Building Officials, 5360 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, California 90601-2298, telephone (310) 699-0541, extension 3244 or 3266, Fax (310) 692-2845 and request the ICBO Education Seminar Catalog.
