After all , a great deal of the best stuff on faults is in the literature, and I don't mean textbooks. In addition a great deal of an understanding of faults is gained through conversation in the field or, why not, on the internet! For example, how would one determine if fluid pressure is the controlling mechanism for overcoming friction or is it the width of the fault (distribution of strain across a fault) , particularly in thrust faults. Nick (not doing his homework) ...
