Responding to Bill Allen's question on how to implement Joe McCormick's (no relation) suggestions: 1.Why doesn't SEAOC pursue legislation to require continuing education for engineers, architects and contractors in California? AB 717 got it for building inspectors, plan checkers and building officials. Doesn't the rewrite of the CA PE Act provides an opportunity to make changes including EIT qualifications? 2. All cities and counties should require structural observation in Seismic Zones 3 & 4.
